On my return trip from New York, wanted to pass by Pennsylvania and find an All-American Diner. I’d say this was the closest place we found along the way.
Walking inside the restaurant, I realized that it was really dark, but the atmosphere was brightened up by our cheerful waitress. She was so friendly and offered a lot of suggestions.
We started off with an appetizer platter, which is just a compilation of all the junk food I love . You can choose 3 choices from the list of appies they have. The platter had beef nachos, curly fries. and hot n’ honey boneless chicken wings.
I think all fries should be in a curly shape (LOL). It’s just so fun to eat and a lot more crispy surface! Every fry had a lot of crunch and was lightly seasoned. I would have preferred more seasoning for a bit of kick, but ketchup always helps!
The nachos were loaded with toppings! Such a big portion, when I was eating the top layers it was great. The tortilla chips were crispy and the melted cheese, beef, and salsa was exactly what I wanted. However, all the chips underneath were really soggy like it was dipped in water. Probably a bit over dressed, but for the most part it was good.
Apparently, no one around here has heard of “Hot n’ Honey”, so this was their attempt to satisfy my tastes. Not what I was looking for but +1 for great service! The Hot n’ Honey wings were more or less, just HOT! Not to mention, boneless chicken wings should just be called “Chicken Nuggets”! I’ll stick to the bone-in next time:P.
I’m not exactly in Philly, but in the Pennsylvania area is close enough (LOL). So of course I went for the cheesesteak! I’ve never had such a hot sandwich in my life, I burnt my tongue like 20 times! Although despite the numbing of my tonfy, the sandwich was packed with flavor! With a peppery kick to it and a generous addition of sauces. The sandwich was just so juicy that every bite would drip with sauce (Love it!).
Quite glad we found J.J. Bridjes on our way back. It was the perfect pit stop! Friendly and quick service so we could recharge and get back on the road. The food was standard diner eats, but the service was what really made the experience awesome!
